Plan of the orthodox cantata and its realization: "John of Damascus" and "Upon reading the psalm"

The article is devoted to analysis Tanaevsky cantata "Ioann Damaskin" (op. 1) and "At the reading of a Psalm" (op. 36) to position a musical embodiment of ideas, consonant to the Russian religious philosophy. Understanding were creativity as a spiritually-transforming, enlightening activities that could connect people love predetermines the Christian interpretation of the genre cantata. The author of the article pays attention to the similarity of the texts A. K. Tolstoy ("John of Damascus") and A. S. Khomyakov ("At the reading of a Psalm"), were elected to cantatas, which is the poetic interpretation of genres Eastern Christian hymnography stichera and Psalm. The article shows and meaning unity poetic sources cantatas, the content of which is approved by the eternity of the spiritual brotherly love - love of neighbor. In perfect love opens and is the true being. The author argues that the ideological unity of the poetic word predestinated and intonational similarity cantatas. Embodying the ideas of the divine-human unity in choral sound, Taneev thus redefined the genre of the cantata in national key.
