The article analyzes the issues of formation of legal culture and legal awareness. The norms of law that restrict and orient the behavior of a citizen and ensure legal order in society are the basis of legal awareness. Legal awareness is formed on the basis of the interaction of various factors, where it is the state and civil society that determine the key role in supporting and developing legal awareness, creating the necessary conditions for a complex and multifaceted process. First of all, the family and the state are an integral part of the formation of legal culture. The family instills in their children knowledge about the rules and norms of behavior in society, explains the meaning of laws and the consequences of their non-compliance. The state, in turn. It is intended to create conditions for informing citizens about their rights and obligations, as well as to ensure the availability of legal information. The analysis of approaches and research by legal experts will allow us to form not only a theoretical basis, but also contribute to legal education of the population, the formation of a high legal culture.
