Legal consciousness of Russian citizens and their legal activity in law enforcement sphere: Theoretical-legal and sociological aspects

Introduction. Among various general theoretical problems related to legal consciousness its functions are of particular importance. The novelty lies in the fact that the author's position, supported by the results of sociological research, on the relationship between the evaluative attitude of citizens to the police and their legal activity in the field of law enforcement is presented in a concentrated form. Materials, Results and Discussion. The concept and classification of functions of legal consciousness are under study. Focusing on its evaluative function, types of evaluative attitudes are distinguished. The article substantiates the assertion that the attitude to law enforcement agencies is mainly conditioned by the attitude of citizens to police activities.
