Legal protection of water objects from garbage

In this article, the author examines the problem of pollution of water bodies. Nowadays garbage fills not only the city dumps and streets, but also rivers, seas and oceans, which negatively affects human health and quality of life. The problem of a large garbage patch in the Pacific Ocean and the legal side of the issue is touched upon. International standards for recycling and waste disposal are reviewed. The activities of international non-profit environmental organizations are characterized. Raises the problem of legal regulation and liability for illegal garbage disposal in the Russian Federation. The subject of the work is relevant today, as the pollution of the World Ocean with waste of different classes causes increasing concern among the public and scientists. The need to increase the responsibility of mankind for the preservation of the environment is noted. Some options for solving the issue raised in the article are considered and offered.
