Legal trajectory for optimizing the structure and functionality of local governments in modern Russia

The article attempts to construct a legal model containing an updated structure and functionality in the context of optimizing the system of local self-government in Russia. A comprehensive analysis of the legal basis of local self-government as one of the most important elements of the system of public authorities of the Russian Federation is presented. Actual problems are identified and ways of solving the issue under consideration are proposed taking into account modern challenges.
