Legal regulation of the status of foreign persons in civil proceedings

The article examines the issues of legal regulation of the status of foreign persons in civil proceedings, as well as problems arising in determining the applicable law in relations complicated by a foreign element, especially in a conflict situation. The author focuses on the place and role of the Constitution of the Russian Federation among the sources of civil and arbitration proceedings involving foreign (individuals and legal entities). The author comes to the conclusion that the rule-making of the Russian Federation in the field of application of international legal norms is sufficiently unified, but the judicial practice generalizing such relations is insufficiently developed, which is facilitated not only by the changed realities, but also by the differences between different legal systems.
