Legal aspects of the problem of defining the boundaries of cyberspace

The formation of the global information space, as a phenomenon undoubtedly positive,at the same time gives rise to new threats to national and international security. The key characteristicsof cyberspace: transborder, anonymity, speed - determine the growth in the number of users ofinformation technologies, but, at the same time, the dynamics of negative impacts on the informationinfrastructure is also increasing. The formation of a successful strategy for countering variousdestructive impacts in cyberspace is impossible without building a full-fledged legal regime thatallows recording and qualifying the named events and facts taking into account the transdisciplinarynature of their nature, the complexity of technical characteristics, and the high dynamics of thetransformation of digital processes. The authors of the study point to the need to establish legalcharacteristics that define cyberspace not only as a virtual reality of the information environment,but also as a legal phenomenon, which will allow more effectively countering offenses committedin the virtual environment.
