Precedent texts as a way to express regional identity

This article describes such means of expression of regional identity as precedent texts. The material of the study is based on the texts of the Astrakhan print media, such as Fakt i Kompromat and Astrakhanskie Vedmosti. The reference to this material allowed substantiating some provisions of the regional linguistics, in particular, concerning the function of the notion of the values of a group of people, living in the same territory, realized by specific linguistic units.
