Subject of cognitive-linguistic research

This article is devoted to the subject of cognitive-linguistic research. Such concepts as "cognitive linguistics", "cognitive revolution", as well as "language" are considered and analyzed. The cognitive revolution is a transition from the description of the system of cognitive abilities to their explanation. Cognitive linguistics considers language as a tool for organizing, processing and delivering information. There are two opposite approaches to the explanation of language knowledge - modular and holistic.
