Karl Marx’s theory of human nature profoundly elucidates the dialectical unity between humanity and the natural world, grounded in human praxis. Its central tenet posits that nature, as the material foundation and wellspring of human survival and development, constitutes a dynamically integrated organic whole together with social practice. In this dialectical relationship, practice plays a crucial intermediary role – it is not only the basic way for humans to understand and transform nature, but also the fundamental way to achieve material transformation between humans and nature. The essence of historical development is precisely the process of continuously transforming natural freedom into humanized nature through human practical activities. This process includes both the humanization of nature and the naturalization of humans, forming a dialectical movement of mutual construction and common development on the basis of practice. Marx’s theory of human nature transcends mere environmental stewardship; it frames the relationship between humanity and nature as a historical unity, perpetually shaped and evolving through material practice.
