The author examines the views and attitudes towards the power of serfs employees of the Ural mining estates (on the example of the perm estates of the Stroganovs) in the first half of the 19th century in the context of the “political” psychology of this social group. Attention is drawn to the positive assessment by serfs employees of the institution of power in general and of specific bodies, representatives of power in particular. It is noted that this positive assessment was based on the legitimate and divine nature of power. “Political” psychology appears to be an integral attribute of the self-consciousness of serfs employees, despite all the apolitical nature of the latter. An assumption is made about the appearance in the middle of the 19th century of the initial signs of changes in the traditional social psychology of serfs employees associated with the onset of the era of “great reforms”.
