Parents’ Ideas about the Peculiarities of Aggressive Behavior in Children of Primary and Secondary School Age

The results of a sociological study aimed at studying parental ideas about the peculiarities of aggressive behavior of children are presented. 260 parents of children of primary and secondary school age acted as respondents. The analysis of the obtained data showed that the dominant forms of child aggression are verbal manifestations and physical actions. Parents consider stubbornness, moodiness, pugnacity and excitability to be the main personal characteristics of aggressive children. The key factors in the formation of aggression are: the family atmosphere, parenting methods and the infl uence of computer games. Most parents are confi dent in the eff ectiveness of their methods of controlling child aggression. The study revealed the need for targeted work on psychological and pedagogical education of families in the fi eld of prevention and correction of aggressive behavior in children.
