The relationship between man and nature is one of the key topics in the scientific and public discourse of our time. The authors of the article aim to analyze the ideas of modern Russians about nature. Within the framework of the work, a value-semantic analysis of the problems is carried out, the basis of which is the study of values related to nature, as well as semantic aspects of human-nature interaction. The results of the conducted sociological research indicate that the respondents have a certain degree of environmental consciousness, but also a certain degree of spiritual distance from nature. It is important to draw a research conclusion about the intergenerational continuity of ideas about nature, the absence of significant differences in these ideas between men and women. Work is essential for the formations of ecological culture and decision-making for the conservation of our planet’s nature and public health.
