This paper highlights the approaches to the demonstration of local flora species in the region on the example of the exhibition "Plants of the North-West of Russia", founded in 2014. Now it houses representatives of 214 species of vascular plants from 137 genera belonging to 56 families. Here are mainly useful and rare decorative local plants, as well as a number of rare species of flora. Most of these species are perennial herbaceous plants belonging to different ecological and phytocenotic groups. The main purpose of this exhibition is to demonstrate the complexes of native plants in their typical types of plant communities (forest, meadow, marsh, water, etc.).•Of all plants grown on this site, only 39 species are included in the red book of the Leningrad region, and 4 species - in the Red book of the Russian Federation. This exhibition should be of great help in familiarizing the population of the region with the plants of the North-West of Russia and play an important role in environmental and environmental education of the younger generation.
