On the basis of archival materials and new researches in the period of the Tuvan People's Republic the author identifies the first and second wave of repression in Tuva in 1920-1930-es and their impact on the fate of the Tuvan writer Sergei Pyurbyu. The author concludes that political repression in Tuva conducted in connection with the «Great Terror» in the Soviet Union and had its own characteristics. The first and second wave of repression in Tuva prepared the beginning the oppressions of dissidents among the creative intelligents in subsequent periods, in particular for knowingly false accusations S. Pyurbyu of bourgeois nationalism.
