Exaggeration in translation: how to save hyperbole in audiovisual content

This article raises the issue of translating hyperbole in audiovisual translation. Special attention is paid to the problems of equivalence and adequacy in translation. The importance of preserving the style of the original text in translation is considered. Based on the analysis of the original (German-language) and translated (Russian-language) versions of the documentary "Die Deutschen" / "The Germans", the translation methods of the transmission of hyperbolic in audiovisual translation were determined.
