The article contains an analytical study of a teacher of additional education on the issue of teaching primary school children of such a historical period as the Ancient World. The most rational and practically applicable methods of studying the material are considered. Separately, examples of the use of certain pedagogical techniques to activate the cognitive activity of students of the creative association are given.
