Methods of transfer of linguacultural features in the translation of Russian folk tales into English

The article deals with the peculiarities of the national and cultural features in translation of Russian folk tales into English. The research material comprises Russian folk tales and their translations into English. The general analysis shows the inconsistency of the Russian-English tradition of the transfer of linguistic and cultural components. The aim is to identify the linguistic and cultural features in the translation of Russian folk tales into English and to study the most optimal ways of translating folklore works while preserving conventional and traditional language features. The article also reveals the degree of adequacy of translations, analyzes the transfer of national and cultural color, clarifies the nature and phenomena of cross-cultural asymmetry.
