The article discusses the importance of competency model application as a key strategic tool for organisational development. The main tools for optimisation of HR management processes based on the competency model are presented. The article analyses the expediency of such toolsas: job profiles, guide interviews and individual development plan. How these tools relate to the key processes of the company's strategic development is defined. Special attention is paid to the application of an individual development plan. By the example of successful implementation of this tool inMegaFon Company, the effectiveness and expediency of its practical use are demonstrated.
