The usage of the theories of the latent variables for measuring the educational competencies

The measurement of the latent variables is a necessary basis for revealing the regularities in the scientific studies. The authors demonstrate the reasonability of the use of the theories of the latent variables. There is given the example of measuring the universal competence UC-1 of the training program “Pedagogical Education”. There are revealed the basic stages of the development of the questionnaire for measuring the educational competence. The authors analyse the quality of the questionnaire as a measuring tool.
