The principle of prohibition of torture in international law

Torture is undoubtedly a dangerous and destructive phenomenon of modern society, which must be comprehensively, unconditionally and consistently dealt with. The legal mechanisms for combating torture derive from the international principle of the prohibition of torture, formulated and functioning on the basis of the Convention against Torture, as well as other international legal instruments. The general characteristic of this principle is devoted to this article.
