Through many decades Russian, Soviet and contemporary researchers of the legal culture of the Russian society have noted one characteristic feature of the Russian person, that is his legal nihilism. Insufficient legal education of the citizens of the state, low level of legal culture are considered to be the causes of this phenomenon. The aim of the research is to show how legal relations influence the formation of legal nihilism in the Russian society
