Public involvement in crime prevention: issues of legislative regulation and law enforcement

The article considers the issues related to the correctness, validity and completeness of legislative regulation of public participation in crime prevention activities. It is noted that at present there is an alarming trend in the largely indifferent attitude of society towards criminal and other antisocial manifestations, while the problem of crime prevention cannot be solved without the active participation of members of the public. The article analyses the norms of the general preventive law, as well as the norms of laws regulating the certain areas of preventive activity. The author substantiates the need to change the norms of the current preventive legislation aimed at systematizing and increasing the public participation in preventive activities.
