Direct foreign investment of russian companies in the context of industrial policy

The article deals with problems caused by Russia's major companies involved in the acquisition of foreign assets. Depreciation of assets, caused by the financial crisis in 2008 questions both the vision of Russia as a strategic investor and the feasibility of the state support of these companies. This means the conservation of the current structure of Russia's backward economy and exports and the maintainance of the status quo of the largest economic agents, concentrated in the energy and metallurgical sectors of economy.
