The problem of doping in modern sport and its research

The problem of doping in modern sport causes quite a lot of social contradictions. International and Russian organizations take measures to counteract the use of doping: various anti-doping social norms are being developed, forms of social control over this deviation are being worked out in the sphere of sport competitions, and a system of sanctions is created, which is constantly being updated. At the same time, major international competitions continue to be accompanied by doping scandals and trials. The conducted analysis of scientific works and media publications on doping has revealed the presence of political aspects of this problem, imperfect regulation of its solution, and incomplete awareness not only of the general population, but also of sport professionals and young people about the negative consequences of doping use for their health and career. All these points have led to the conclusion that there is a need for systematic sociological research for a comprehensive analysis and scientific justification of practical recommendations on anti-doping work, taking into account interdisciplinary data. The issues related to the problem of doping, which require further sociological research, have been identified.
