The problem of forming inter-ethnic tolerance in schoolchildren in the process of teaching history

This article highlights the main problems of the formation of tolerance of pupils in the process of teaching history. The relevance of the indicated problems is due to the multinational character of the Russian state, and, therefore, the urgent need to educate a tolerant young generation, ready for a dialogue of different cultures, ethnic groups, religions. In the course of the study, an experiment was conducted aimed at identifying the most effective techniques and methods for the formation of tolerant consciousness of pupils. The experiment was conducted as part of a school history course, among pupils in 9-th grade. Its results convincingly proved that the most effective methods for solving the problem of forming students' tolerance is to use materials from regional history and the problematic teaching method.
