The most relevant methodological approaches to the psychological diagnostics of the affective-emotional sphere in the psychological and pedagogical practice of the USA, European countries and Russia are considered. The specifics of the SEL approach (USA) and its European varieties are described, the fundamental differences between them are indicated. Key competencies assessed in the SEL approach are briefly described. The assessment of psychodiagnostic tools used in SEL is given. The article reveals the peculiarities of the domestic system-activity approach to psychological activity, which is the basis of the Federal State Educational Standard. The article presents universal learning actions, the assimilation of which by students is aimed at learning activities carried out within the framework of the system-activity approach. A comparative analysis of foreign (SEL) and domestic (system-activity) approaches to psychological activity is carried out.
