The problem of cultural and civilizational confrontation between Russia and the West: clash of value positions

Unfortunately, we are currently witnessing a rather harsh confrontation between the West, which is now understood as countries with market economies and pluralistic democracies, with countries that do not meet these criteria, according to the so-called expert community. It would be the fairest and wisest action to recognize that the experience of social development of each large enough country is unique and ambiguous, thus not fitting into any one-size-fits-all standard. The analysis of contradictory and multidirectional norms and values forms part of the research of this work. The article also attempts to understand the fundamental causes and circumstances of cultural and civilizational divergences between Russia and the West in the past and present. It is this, civilizational, approach that takes into account the differentiated principle to the greatest extent when considering the cultural development of human society.
