The article deals with the issues of myth, mythological thinking and humanities in Ernst Cassirer's “Philosophy of the symbolic forms” (Vol. II). The author's aim is to show Cassirer's evolution from the scientific rationalism of the Marburg School to a wider concept of rationality embodied in the mythological forms of thinking and consciousness.
