The problem of cruelty and violence in the family is the most urgent today in the Russian Federation. This article discusses the types of domestic violence, the problems of criminal legislation in the field of violent acts by family members, as well as cycles of domestic violence. The types of dysfunctional families are described in detail. The most frequent type of violence, namely violence against children, is considered.
