The article deals with the experience of revealing the criteria of the evaluation and description of the levels of the development of the sociocultural competence of the non-native speakers. There is suggested the scheme of the evaluation of the development by the subcompetencies, included in the content of the sociocultural competence, and the three criteria (cognitive, praxeological and axiological).
