The problem of legal statuses of new territories of the Russian Federation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed federal constitutional laws on the entry into Russia of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. However, this event has generated a lot of controversy among lawyers regarding their legal status. This article analyzes the legal aspects of the entry of new territories into the Russian Federation from the point of view of Russian and international legislation.
