The problem of developing learning skills

Knowledge about human learning and development is changing rapidly. New ideas come from various fields, including neuroscience. For those who are committed to developing evidence-based pedagogy and solving existing learning challenges, cognitive psychology offers a storehouse of still largely untapped knowledge. To the author of this article, attempts to link neuroscience to learning seem to ignore or not fully compatible with what cognitive psychology tells us about learning.
