The issue of immigrant self - identity ( based on the novel “ The brief wondrous life of Oscar Wao ” by Diaz Junot)

The article deals with the issue of immigrant self-identity based on the novel “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” by Diaz Junot. There is shown at the example of the family of the central character of the novel that immigrants prefer escaping themselves and their origin and forgetting their own tragic experience. The author underlines the necessity of the commemoration and transfer of the cultural memory of the ethnic group helping a man to find himself by means of the theme of the futile book.
