The article deals with the problem of meaning in the social and cultural activities. The problem of meaning is one of the most complex, methodologically meaningful. In the conventional understanding of everyday social and cultural activities is treated not only as the sphere of consumption, and is regarded as a living cultural and creative process, involving the free choice of cultural activities, artistic creativity, introduction to the best examples of art, self-organization of personality in terms of leisure. The author comes to the conclusion that regardless of the nature and scope of manifestations of social and cultural activities designed to solve actual problems in our society. Among them, the study of, and satisfaction with the elevation of spiritual needs and interests of the individual, the formation of its socially significant qualities, development of creative abilities of the individual. And to achieve these goals in the sense of social and cultural activities is paramount.
