Problem of variability of Russian literary personal names in the translation aspect

The author considers the plurality of socio-functional naming of the object in the form of full, abbreviated and hypocoristic forms of Russian personal names when translating Russian literary works into German. Using in Russian official and unofficial forms of naming a person a diverse, often subjective diversity of word-formants creates additional difficulties for the translator.
