The Problem of Perception of the Russian Spirit by the Anglo-Saxon Public Opinion of the XIX – XX Centuries

Бесплатный доступ

The author studies the problem of positive perception (reception) of Russian spirituality and culture (Russism), including nationally oriented Russian thought, in the Anglo-American public opinion in the 19th–20th centuries, against the background of the traditionally “numerically” prevailing rejection of everything connected with the original Russian spirituality and culture. A direct connection is established between the so-called “containment of Russia” by its enemies in the West and the internal Russian “self-containment”, which was carried out, voluntarily or involuntarily, in the past and is encouraged today by Russian Westernists and Westernizers.
