The relevance of the study is due to the need to resolve contradictions between the legal requirements regarding the procedure for the lawyer's entry into a criminal case and the practical difficulties that arise when concluding an agreement in simple written form for the provision of legal assistance. Cases are considered when it is impossible to formalize such an agreement in advance, which jeopardizes the interests of the defendants. The results of the study emphasize the importance of proper execution of agreements, but indicate the need for flexibility in situations requiring immediate intervention by a lawyer.
