The problematic area of civic identity formation

The importance of studying civic identity as both a theoretical construct and a life phenomenon, coupled with the lack of a holistic approach to defining the problematic area of civil identity formation in the complex context of Russian reality, substantiate the relevance of this study. The multiplicity of civic identity manifestations and the multilayered nature of its examination necessitate special attention in the implementation of identity formation policies. This article presents the results of an analysis of the problematic area of civic identity formation, reflecting a holistic approach to studying the content and structure of this phenomenon. Among the primary issues identified in the formation of civic identity are problems related to the essence of identity, including the substantive complexity of self-awareness, the dynamism of the emotional aspect, the multiplicity of identity manifestations, and the challenges associated with measuring identity. Additionally, the article addresses issues concerning the technologization of accounting for the specificities of place, tools, and conditions of identity formation, as well as the challenges of its formation and development. By elucidating these complexities, this research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of civil identity formation processes and to inform the development of effective policies that foster a cohesive civic identity in the diverse sociocultural landscape of modern Russia.
