Problems of the formation of a continuing education system for teachers-choreographers in Russia

In modern society, there is an increasing understanding that the knowledge gained during basic education at universities becomes obsolete already in the learning process. And there is a need to improve the competence of specialists quite regularly, which leads to a great need for professional retraining programs. In connection with the popularization of «lifelong education» concept, additional professional education becoming an important part of the career path of teachers-choreographers. However, the current professional development and professional retraining programs for teacher-choreographers are imperfect and need modernization and improvement. The advantages and disadvantages of the existing system of additional education for teachers-choreographers in Russia and possible ways of its improvement will be discussed in this article.
