Problems of functioning and challenges for the UN Security Council in 2022

This article discusses the problematic aspects of the functioning of the UN Security Council in the realities of the XXI century. Attention was drawn to the need to reform this body by eliminating the dominance of developed countries in solving critical issues. The need to enhance the role of representatives of the developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America in the UN Security Council has been updated by satisfying the reasonable applications of these states for membership in the Security Council on a permanent basis. The conclusion is substantiated: through the effective use of the capabilities of the UN Security Council, the world community can cope with existing global problems, the growth in the number of local military conflicts and related humanitarian crises, which will lead to an increase in the level of world stability.
