The problems and crisis of values in the modern world: a social and philosophical analysis

The paper discusses the role of values in the global world. An attempt is made to analyze the main causes and factors affecting the development of the crisis of values. The most important values in the society’s life are highlighted. The research provides statistics indicating the state of the modern Russian society, particularly the implementation of the principles of social justice. It presents the views of both Russian and international social scientists on the values in the modern world. The problems of religious relations are considered as well. The research focuses on the analysis of social and philosophical views of P.B. Struve who has tried to implement the principles of social synthesis of values in his concept. The author emphasizes that the liberal conservatism of Struve proposes the general principles of finding a social and political compromise in the life of social communities. The paper concludes that the deepening crisis of values threatens to cause destructive consequences for the whole world.
