Bilingualism is a common phenomenon in the 21st century. Bilingual children are forced to learn 2 languages for one reason or another. Such a condition can be unwittingly put to them by multilingual parents, or a situation in which the family moves to another country. Bilingualism is very common among the children of labor immigrants. But children do not always have enough motivation and desire to learn a second language, especially if the rules of the language seem illogical to them. This is how children often think when they start learning Russian. The article is devoted to the study of the problems faced by parents and teachers of bilingual children when teaching them Russian as a foreign language. The methodology of overcoming these problems is considered, as well as possible positive and negative aspects of learning Russian as a second language.
