Problems and prospects for development of the tourism industry in Russia during the period of international law degradation and sanctions wars

The Russian market of tourist services is a steadily developing market of the largest country on the planet which has a huge tourist potential. The paper analyzes the state of the Russian tourism industry before and after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions by the collective West in the post-truth era, examines its growth and regression, the impact of sanctions pressure on inbound and outbound tourist flows, that is, it provides an assessment of the situation in this area during global geopolitical crises. The relevance of sustainable development and the formation of a positive image, especially of domestic regional tourism, is now recognized at the state level as one of the most important catalysts for the growth of the Russian economy. At the same time, the authors conclude that the role of regional tourism in Russia will only grow steadily in the near future.
