Problems and prospects for the implementation of pedagogical correction of gifted children at secondary school

The article poses and analyzes the problem of the lack of targeted work on pedagogical correction of gifted children in the practice of secondary schools and considers the reasons for this. The concepts of pedagogical correction, categories and content of each type of children’s giftedness, risk group are given. Typical personal characteristics of gifted students as representatives of a risk group are outlined. The article proposes the following promising means of optimizing the pedagogical correction of gifted children: 1) advanced training of teaching staff, 2) accumulation of experience in working with gifted children, 3) the use of reserves of extracurricular activities. The article also characterizes interactive innovative forms of conducting correctional classes and samples of creative tasks for gifted children with the use of such technologies as acceleration, deepening, enriching, and problematizing.
