In their official activities law enforcement officers must observe the rights and legitimateinterests of citizens, while preventing violations of the law. Regulation of the activities of law enforcementofficers is enshrined in the normative legal acts of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the legislationalso provides for the legal liability of law enforcement officers for the violation of official discipline andlegality. Russian legislation provides for disciplinary, administrative and criminal liability for law enforcementofficers when they commit a misdemeanour or offence.
