Personnel management in non-profit organizations is a rather complicated system. Like the business environment, it includes all aspects of human resource management from strategy development and personnel policy to the release of staff, but the difference arises in the fact that compensation is often not fundamental in attracting and retaining staff. The growing popularity of volunteer projects contributes to the development of non-profit organizations around the world, and the significant impact of social projects encourages to delve deeper into the study of this phenomenon. In reality, absolutely all organizational processes in non-profit organizations are related to the management of people. At the same time, there are a number of features that must be taken into account for the effective operation of non-profit organizations. The main problem of human resource management for non-profit organizations is the contradiction between the needs of society in the social sphere, the qualitative renewal of its personnel, and its current state. Few want to build a career exclusively in the non-profit sector because of the low pay. In such structures, non-material incentives, informal communications and the personality of the leader play an important role. The purpose of the study is to analyze the possible problems of personnel management in non-profit organizations and find ways to overcome the inefficiency of non-profit organizations in the development of human resources. The methodological basis of the study was the basic theories and provisions of scientific literature in the field of economics and management. The information base of the study was the expert and statistical data of the analysts of Rosstat of the Russian Federation, ANO “Atlas non-profit organizations”, the Agency for Social Information in recent years. The article analyzes the basic principles, trends and features of hiring non-profit organizations employees, incentives and motivators that work for people who are ready to devote their lives to helping and supporting those in need. The results of the study can be used in socially oriented non-profit organizations to improve the efficiency of existing systems.
