Problems of torture qualification

The article analyzes the legislative framework establishing criminal liability for torture in the Russian Federation. Improving the criminal legal protection of the individual in the Russian Federation requires a scientific understanding of the problem of criminalization of violence. Most of the provisions of the Criminal Code contain elements that are understandable from a qualification point of view. At the same time, criminal acts such as torture raise many questions in practice.
