The problems of assessment of regional development balance and the directions of their solution

The article analyses different approaches to the content of the methodological support of the assessment of regional socioeconomic development balance. It has been found that there is no integrated methodology, which is associated with the complexity of the category under study and the necessity to consider not only the ratio of a large number of different factors, but also their dynamics. The authors suggest to resolve this problem by means of the basic theses of the theory of economic space, as long as there will be developed a system of indicators describing regional socio-economic processes.
