Problems of perceptive adaptation in the context of oral communication

The article discusses the problems of perceiving the accented English speech in the context of intercultural communication in the Asia Pacific Region. Description of phonetic transformations in nonnative English speech is given. Perceptive strategies bound to contribute to adequate interpretation of information in the sound message received are described.
